This policy outlines our approach to refunds and deferrals for TechThemYoung programs. We aim to be fair while ensuring program sustainability and quality.

1. When Refunds Are NOT Available

To maintain program sustainability and fairness to all participants, refunds are not available in the following situations:

After program start date: Once the cohort begins, payments are non-refundable.
Partial attendance: Attending any portion of the program forfeits refund eligibility.
Missed sessions: Personal schedule conflicts or missed sessions do not qualify for refunds.
Change of mind: Deciding the program isn't suitable after it begins.
Device or internet issues: Technical problems on the student's side.
Failure to meet prerequisites: Not having required skills or equipment.
Personal emergencies after start: While we're sympathetic, program costs are committed.

Why this policy? Program costs (instructors, platforms, materials) are committed before each cohort begins. Late refunds compromise program quality and fairness to other participants.

2. Limited Refund Conditions

Refunds are only available in these specific circumstances:

Before Cohort Start

Full refund (minus ₦5,000 processing/admin fee) if requested at least 7 days before program start date.

Full Refund -₦5,000

Within 7 Days Before Start

50% refund if requested less than 7 days before program start date.

50% Refund

After Program Starts

No refund available once the program begins.

No Refund

Administrative Error Exception: If we make an error in your enrollment (wrong program, duplicate charge, etc.), we will provide a full refund regardless of timing.

3. Deferral Options

If you cannot attend your scheduled cohort, you may request to defer your enrollment:

Move your payment and enrollment to the next available cohort

Deferral Conditions

Deferral requests must be made before the current cohort begins
Only one deferral per enrollment is allowed

Deferral cannot be converted to a refund later

Note: Deferring your enrollment helps us maintain cohort planning while giving you flexibility. It's often the best option if your schedule changes.

4. How to Request Refund or Deferral

Send an email to admission@techthemyoung.com.ng with:

Program enrolled in
Cohort start date
Reason for request
Payment reference number

Await Confirmation

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days

Processing time: 5-10 business days for refunds

Receive Decision

We will inform you of the decision and next steps

Refunds returned to original payment method

Important: Verbal or WhatsApp requests are not official. Only email requests to the admissions address are processed.

5. Payment & Enrollment Rules

Payment Confirmation

Enrollment is confirmed only after full payment verification
Payment verification may take 1-3 business days
Program access begins on the official start date
Late payments may result in delayed access

Non-Transferability

Enrollment is personal and non-transferable without written approval from TechThemYoung. You cannot sell, give away, or transfer your spot to another person without our consent.

Transfer requests require email approval
Transferee must meet all eligibility requirements
Administrative fee may apply for transfers
Transfers not allowed after program begins

6. Sponsored Seats

Special rules apply to sponsored enrollments:

Sponsor notification: We notify sponsors of any refund or deferral requests
Sponsor approval: Refunds for sponsored seats require sponsor approval
Refund to sponsor: Refunds are returned to the original payer (sponsor)
Sponsor agreements: Separate sponsorship terms may apply

If you are a sponsored student and need to request a deferral or discuss refund options, please coordinate with your sponsor before contacting us.

7. Decision Authority

Final Decision Authority

All refund and deferral decisions are made at the discretion of TechThemYoung management.

We consider each situation individually, but final decisions rest with TechThemYoung and are based on this policy and program sustainability.

Fair Consideration: While we strictly follow this policy, we do consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. However, exceptions are rare and never guaranteed.
